The Need for a Diabetic Die The Need for a Diabetic Diet PlanA type two diabetic diet is all about controlling the number of calories people with diabetes eat. Because, unused calories become body fat. And, excess fat cells reduce insulin’s ability to remove sugar from the blood.

Maintaining a healthy diet is important for everyone, but it is especially important for people with diabetes. A type 2 diabetes diet and following the right diabetic diet meals can make all the difference to a person struggling to keep their blood sugar under control. But, what is the right meal plan? How much of which food group should you eat?

Controlling Diabetes with Diet

Your doctor has likely told you that you can control your Diabetes with diabetic diet menu. But what does “diet” really mean?

Taking on a new diet, or nutritional habit, means that you must learn about foods that are nutritious for your body and the portion sizes that are necessary for your blood sugar control.

You probably know that some foods raise blood sugar more than others. The foods that turn into sugar in your body are called carbohydrates. Carbohydrates include: starches (bread, cereal, rice, pasta, grains, crackers), fruits and fruit juice, milk and yogurt, starchy vegetables (corn, peas, beans, potatoes and sweet potatoes), sweets and sugar.

Diabetes carbohydrates

Dieting does not mean that you cannot eat the foods you like. Instead, you need to limit some foods and spread other foods out during the day (such as carbohydrate-rich foods), thereby, diabetes supplements, not eating large portions all at one time. Eating too many portions of carbohydrate-rich foods at one time will lead to high blood sugar levels.

For example: instead oGlycemic Index Graphf eating a plate of spaghetti with garlic bread, and a glass of milk (all carbohydrates); make of your plate spaghetti, add a salad with raw vegetables, a grilled chicken breast, and a glass of water with lemon.

Eating just a spaghetti meal with the bread and milk causes the blood sugar level to rise drastically after the meal. People with Diabetes cannot process all of the carbohydrates in order to bring the blood sugar down to a normal level. However, by choosing the second spaghetti meal, the blood sugar does not go up as high because there is are less carbohydrates to process and it is easier for the body to bring the blood sugar level back down.

Diabetes vitamins & Proteins

Meat, fish, chicken, eggs, cheese, cottage cheese, peanut butter and tofu are protein foods. Protein-rich foods do not immediately become sugar in our bloodstream after consumption. However, simply because these foods do not immediately turn to sugar doesn’t mean we can eat an unlimited amount of these foods; eating too much of any food will cause weight gain.

Think of food portions this way. Your 9 inch diet portion control plate should be vegetables, lean meat or meat substitute, and Precise Portions Control Focus Dinnerware grains/starch.     I'm really impressed with T's stamina and energy level during these walks, especially since there are days she barely leaves the couch; though I will say that when she does crash from exhaustion or low blood sugar, it happens very quickly, so it's good to have some food or water nearby at all times in these emergencies. She's really grouch when her blood sugar falls. Then she scares me.

    I undestand where he is coming from on many points. The church should be doing more for counsel — especially because we are bringing in hurting people (I'm not sure there is anyone without needs, work/family/money/belief problems, sin, and other baggage). Even as our spirit is renewed at rebirth, we are exorted to renew our minds. However, our churches overall are surely lacking when it comes to shephards doing these things. AA and Celebrate recovery etc. have done a much better job at at least conveying the message of surrender, acceptance, be emptied of self and be filled with God etc.

    With that said, there is also a brain-body chemistry connection that many do not understand. Hormones (post-partum depression, monthly cycles etc.), sugar (highs and lows) especially as seen in diabetic and hypo/hyper glycemic patients who suddenly “change personalities” or blackout etc. There are too many more to list. Fever can cause significant personality/mental changes to the point of hallucinations etc.

    These conditions are not unlike many other conditions, diseases etc. that seem to impact only the body. If someone can be born with insulin dependency and other chemical deficiencies/imbalances, it surely could be possible for people to be lacking chemicals/hormones etc. in their system.

    Moreover, how does one explain those who have had a stroke, a brain stem injury who change personalities and have mental disabilities?
    To chose whether something is organic or inorganic can be dangerous when the church in general is ill-equipped (currently) to deal with many of these issues. It seems to me the church has lost many of it's orginal purposes to give hope to the hurting, heal people, proclaim the good news of redemption, and disciple/feed (spiritually) the flock while “remembering the poor …widows and orphans” and those in need/heavy burdened.

    Thank God, that he is not limited by only church buildings and continues to use parachurch organizations, nonprofits, and even just small groups/individuals to do his will.

    We had a really strange waitress tonight, too. She told Jesse (in a very serious and concerned tone) that he should have his blood sugar tested for diabetes because she commented on how fast he drank his first glass of water and then we told her that he drinks water like crazy all the time. She told us she had that “problem” once too and it was her blood sugar. Good to know. Freak.

    I suffer from high blood sugar. Through a fairly healthy diet, exercise, and medication I have been able to get my blood sugar level down to about 250 from as high as 500. My doctor had been prepared to prescribe insulin to bring it down further. On March tenth I started taking Migenetics. Within two day my blood sugar was down forty two points to 208. That level has been as low as 186.
